Study Spots

Sitting in lockdown and dreaming of the perfect study space?? We have created a list of our favourite spaces on campus for serious study (enter Rocky theme music here), which will be ready once restrictions ease!

For those who like cosy corners:

Tucked away near the Medical Building is the Brownless Biomedical Library. This cosy space is best on cold days when you want to hideaway. Plenty of shared tables and snug booths with lots of power points. Plus, a great selection of food and drink for the vending machines… Pocky anyone??

The Arts West - North Building is another sneaky spot on campus that offers uniquely designed study spaces on every floor. Find the perfect corner for you as you explore the mini-museum-like display cabinets scattered around the building. As you go up, make sure to take in some of the best city views on campus!

If you like dark, chill vibes, the Giblin Eunson Library might just be for you! This basement style library is great for blocking out the world around you. BONUS: Walkthrough to The Spot building for a snack break at Cafe Commercio, or explore the shared study spaces on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

For those who like a room with a view:

Those music kids sure know how to study in style! The Ian Potter Southbank Centre is an architectural masterpiece with little study nooks on every floor, many boasting gorgeous city views. The catch? You might have to convince a fellow music student to swipe you in!

The Brian Lewis Atrium in the Melbourne School of Design Building is really a sight to behold! If looking at beautifully designed shapes and spaces is the inspiration you need to get the creative juices flowing, this is the room for you! You can also snag a spot at one of the many PowerPoint ladle study tables on the 2nd and 3rd floor, to get a bird's eye view of the action. BONUS: the 2nd floor has two microwaves, so you can camp out and make a day of it!

The Western Edge Biosciences, or WEBS, is a perfect location for some serious study for those in the know. This museum comes with excellent individual and open study options with fantastic bioscience displays and fancy vibes throughout. BONUS: Stop by Axil Coffee Roasters on your way in to grab a hot drink and jaffle to fuel your study!

For those who like light:

It’s a classic for a reason. The Baillieu Library has options for everyone, with floors of big shared tables, individual corners and of course large windows so you can watch the world go by as you study.

Ever cursed a hard plastic chair during hour four of study! Check out the Law Library, not only does it have several cosy chairs and individual study spaces, but there is also fantastic light and beautiful views as you venture through the upper floors.
