Getaways

i) Phillip Island

You would want to try out StudyMelbourne which offers day trips or 2-days to the Philip Island along with other students if you are not the type to rent a car and do long drives. A personal suggestion would also be to try out the Oceania tour and travels packages as they provide guided tours (Fred is a great guide that really makes the whole experience so much more fun than it normally is!). We packed our snacks and sweaters and set out on a 2.5 hour journey to see the penguins waddle their way outtve the beaches of the island which was a surreal experience. The Nobbies is the must-see sights on this Island, and let me tell you, prepare to be mind-blown by the vastness and the beauty of this place. It is such an unimaginable view when you walk down the path built along the coastline.

ii) Great Ocean Road

This is the second most visited sites in Australia! So If you definitely get the chance to go visit this place, take it and drive down there. It’s 2-3 hours away from the city, but totally worth it. The famous spots you should definitely stop by are The 12 apostles (OBV!), Torquay, Aireys Inlet, Lorne, Anglesea, Loch and Gorge and the Apollo Bay. Every place here is worth visiting atleast once. So make that whole day trip, or you could even rent out an airBNB in this area and enjoy this place to the fullest.

iii) St Paul’s beach

Head down for a day trip to the southern part of Sorrento for some picturesque beaches and rock formations. Trust us, the Great Ocean Road has NOTHING on this hidden beauty. Make sure you’re dressed warm enough and have your bush walking shoes on!

iii) Flinders Peak

You cannot miss out on the leaves changing colour during fall when in Melbourne. And what better way to watch this season than hiking? Some cardio with a view Flinders Peak also has a fabulous view point of the You Yangs Regional Park which makes it all worthwhile.
